Before & After. Outdated dresser purchased at a furniture auction.
Hardware removed. Top sanded and stained with walnut paste stain. Door removed. Rough sanded sides and painted with Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. Distressed. Waxed. Rustic hardware added. Thanks, Johnny, for helping with Rustic Hardware.

what a lucky find and what an amazing transformation. it doesn't even look the same dresser! I love the white/walnut color contrast and the distressing adds so much character to the dresses. she's just a beauty and will definitely make a great addition fo your home. rita
This is huge inspiration! I just bought a great vintage dresser (at auction), very similar to this one, and was at a loss of how to refinish/ paint it. I love the 2-tone look, with the top stained dark. Now that is what I am going to do. Thanks for the great idea!

we have a dresser, armoire, and end table in this exact set!! except my dresser is the opposite two doors with the hidden drawers on the outside and three drawers on the inside. glad to know it looks so nice without the doors because the handles and scrollwork is a bit over the top. I feel like I live in a secret garden behind the Beast's(Beauty and the) castle.
it looks so much better without that center door! love the new look!
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a great idea to expose those drawers! You did a lovely job. I am your newest follower. I hope you can visit me sometime too :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the way you distressed it. Looks great!
