Blue Distressed Dresser

DSC_0540-1.jpg

That I redid in colors that have been in my head for a while.  Sometimes I have color combinations in my head that I would necessarily pick for my own house but I want to see how they come out on a piece of furniture.

This is what it looked like before I started.

It’s hard to see the color in the direct sunlight but it was a dark grayish, greenish, blackish color.  Kind of like on of those fancy paint jobs on a nice car.  You think you know what color it is until you stand in a different place to realize you were wrong.

I rough sanded it.  Painted it a bright orangish gold.  Then painted it a darker bright blue with a a little white added to the same color for the top coat.  I distressed and added a light coat of stain to give it some more character.

I ordered some rustic hardware and my uncle was so kind to put it on for me.  I think it adds SO much to it.

This photo was taken before I added the stain.

Overall I am happy with how it turned out.
